We spent several hours rambling Iona Beach Regional Park near YVR. Lots to see!
There were several herons snoozing in the reeds. We’ve seen as many as few dozen there, but only a handful today.
Later in the afternoon they became more active

Iona Beach Regional Park lunch menu. We saw a pair of Bald Eagles team up to take down a duck along the shoreline, and then take it out to a log in the water to eat.

Chasing shadows, light, and dark. . .
In addition to the eagles and the barn owl that were highlights of our day in Delta, BC, today, we also saw several Northern Harriers, Finches, Robins, and Towhees.
Not a huge number of eagles in Delta, BC, today, but lots of good shooting. . .

We walked the forest and fields of the Historic Stewart Farm in south Surrey, BC. Lots of birds!

In these tough Covid times, let’s remember that our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents went through wars, destitution, starvation, and starting new lives literally living in holes in the ground in what is now western Canada.
Too many of us have no clue about the sacrifices made by so many to get us to where we are today.
There was no telephone, for most no radio, no TV, of course no Internet, no cell phones. . .
And no grocery stores or supermarkets. So what are we all bitching about?
