I spent a couple of hour roaming the Historic Stewart Farm in Surrey, BC. Nice to see both Anna’s and Rufous Hummingbirds, and apple blossoms.

Yumi suggested we go to Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver today. It had been many years since we last visited, and it was a great day to be there.
I took an overnight camping trip up the Sea to Sky, staying at Alice Lake.
Yesterday morning I went up to One Mile Lake near Pemberton, and came upon four Trumpeter Swans. I’d never seen swans there before. I guess they were transiting, and dropped in for a fuel up and a rest.

Thank goodness for good neighbours!
As I was walking home from work around 10:45pm after a late shift tonight, I came across a fellow lying in the dirt on the urban trail behind our place, unconscious.
Another gentleman was already there and on the phone to 911.
The two of us stayed with the unconscious fellow, answering questions from 911, and tilting the fellow’s head back and doing a few chest compressions (per 911 instructions) for he wasn’t breathing well, while paramedics were on their way.
We told 911 that the guy on the ground had a lighter in one hand, and a crack pipe in the other. . .
One went up a path leading through a townhouse complex toward Rumble St., and the other went toward the Skytrain line, in case the paramedics came that way.
I took advantage of a late work shift to do a Byrne Creek Ravine Park ramble in SE Burnaby, BC, this morning. Lots of birds and assorted blossoms. . .

Will get around to sharing some GoPro video another day. . .
I walked the Still Creek corridor near Willingdon Ave. in Burnaby, BC, this morning while the car was being serviced. While the creek is basically a fairly stagnant ditch in this area, there’s still lots to be seen!

Green-winged Teal
Bumblebee
Mourning Cloak butterfly
Northern Flicker. It was drumming on the light standard.
Spring is here!

We spent a couple of lovely hours in the spring sunshine today at the VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver.

I came across this interesting Solar EV Charging station in the parking lot at Garry Point Park in Steveston, BC, today.
The panel appears to track the sun. . .
We don’t have an EV, yet, but I’ll have to check this out in more detail!
