Making Frame For Sharpening Stone
Idle hands put to use during Covid project # 327b.
I’ve been meaning to make a frame for the sharpening stone for years. Finally did this quick ‘n dirty job today using wood scraps found in the garage.
Not pretty, but it works! Now I can put some muscle behind the blades without being concerned about fingers getting in the way, eh?
Initially I started chiseling, but quickly realized it would be way faster to make a raised holder.
Sun, Heat at Fraser Foreshore Park in Burnaby
Today’s ramble along Fraser Foreshore Park in south Burnaby, BC. We were glad we went early because by the time we left there was not a spot left to park for blocks around. Loads of people out enjoying the sun.
The physical distancing didn’t look too bad, but there were a few large groups of picnickers. Let’s not ease up too fast, folks, please. . .

Soaring Cormorant at Iona Beach
This cormorant passed overhead at Iona Beach Regional Park near YVR today. We were surprized because most often we seen them skimming along low over water.
Yellow-Headed Blackbird at Iona Beach
Wonderful to see a Yellow-Headed Blackbird at Iona Beach Regional Park near YVR today. But folks, please don’t leave bread out for birds to eat, it’s not healthy for them.
Swallows, Martins at Iona Beach
We spent several hours rambling the near-empty trails of Iona Beach Regional Park near YVR today. Oh yes, there were lots of people but most were at the beach area, so no issues maintaining physical distance on the trails.
