Great Blue Herons at Iona Beach Regional Park
There were over a dozen herons snoozing in the reeds at Iona Beach Regional Park near YVR today. By the time I completed a loop of the park and got back to the marsh they had livened up.

We stopped at Barnet Marine Park in north Burnaby, BC, for a beach ramble. The sun was magnificent after weeks of daily rain and snow.

I like that a few bits of the area’s industrial history have been left to explore. It’s hard to believe the area was a near-separate community for decades.
Palo 12-Slot Battery Charger Looking Good
Got one of these on Amazon the other day. A Palo 12-slot charger. It has a recondition function, and can take both NiMH and NiCD batteries, AA and AAA. So far, so good! C$40.
I have a couple of 4-slot chargers, but it’ll be great to be able to plug in just one and do a dozen.
Choco’s First Anniversary
I remembered that our beloved Choco passed today, a year ago.
She was a wonderful cat, very intelligent and personable. We mourned for months, and eventually adopted Sora from the SPCA, and she’s filled a void in our hearts.
But Choco was amazing, and we honor her memory, her spirit, and the love that she showered upon us for so many years.
One of my fave shots back in 2004.
Spotted the Magic Bus Today
Saw this on the way home from the Burnaby Still Creek recycling center the other day. And yes, the sides were decorated in greater detail along the same theme.
Hope it was being towed to restoration rather than demolition!
It was headed west, but Woodstock is a 44-hour drive east from Burnaby
