I had a one-day break in my schedule, so I took advantage of the last quiet week before summer holidays kick in for a night of camping up the Sea to Sky.
There something about the Pemberton area that often results in dramatic skies
Got the tarp up in preparation for a forecast of rain. Had a few claps of thunder in the evening, and a bit of drizzle. The rain kicked in more heavily early this morning, so I just rolled everything up and stuffed it into a heavy duty garbage bag to dry at home.
Last weekend I attended the 2019 SEP Workshop in Nanaimo, BC. It’s held every two years, and offers a cornucopia of sessions ranging from fish biology to public advocacy. Thanks to all the volunteers, Pacific Streamkeepers Federation and DFO Salmonid Enhancement Program who made it a huge success!
I did an overnighter at Nairn Falls Provincial Park. Glad I got the tent up and a fire started before the rain began to fall.
Darn if I didn’t get my first camping injury in decades. I was sharpening the axe, and it was slick in the rain, and . . . nicked my thumb. Not a large cut, but deep.
We were camping on Vancouver Island and decided to drive down to Victoria for some sightseeing. One of the places we visited was Royal Roads University where I completed an MA in Professional Communication. Hard to believe that was ten years ago!
We took a day off to make a three-day weekend to camp on Vancouver Island. We camped at Miracle Beach Provincial Park. The day started off soggy, but cleared and we got the tent and tarps up before there was further precipitation.
