Yumi and I spent a few hours ambling about Iona Beach Regional Park today, part of the excellent Metro Vancouver Regional Parks system.
Some of the highlights of the day:

Rufous Hummingbird

Red-winged Blackbird males were getting feisty, with some scrapping going on. . .

There were plenty of Tree Swallows zooming about, finally spotted one sitting still long enough to get a photo. They did not appear to be staking out the nest boxes along the river yet. . .

Great Blue Heron overflight

And a sadly mangy Coyote. It kept stopping and scratching itself, and had no fur left on its tail. . .
No.
With all the AI going on, people sometimes wonder at the authenticity of photos and videos.
Everything that I post has no AI. None. Nada. Never.
I crop photos, I resize photos, I sharpen photos. But that is the extent of modification. Sometimes I color correct, but not often.
So what you see here is natural.
If I ever go down the AI trail, I will label anything that AI has touched. That’s a firm commitment.
Beautiful Anna’s Hummingbird at the Historic Stewart Farm in south Surrey, BC, this morning.

For such noisy birds, they are shy. . .

This Great Blue Heron was batting about .800 this morning on the Nicomekl River in Surrey, BC, at the Historic Stewart Farm.
