Never a dull moment, eh?

Happy Canada Day!
A Happy Canada Day from a sleepy Sora the Cat. Chilling out on this rainy day watching a lemon octopus pasta creation on TV Japan. I’m sure Sora would love octopus, doubtful about the lemon ;-).
UPDATE: Well, this has been the dreariest Canada Day in my memory .
Kitty Spots a Hummer
Sora the Cat was sitting at the dining room window looking through the screen when she started chattering.
We looked up and there was a hummer on the tree outside. Fortunately it stayed while I ran down to my office to get Big Bertha, spinning the ISO up to 3200 and shooting handheld at a 35mm equivalent of 900mm.
Nikon D7200 and Tamron 150-600 zoom, first gen.
Sora the Cat, Dori the Turtle Snoozing in the Sun
Our girls snoozing in the sun this afternoon.
Psst, are you awake?
I just want to give Dori a hug. . . See, no claws, eh?
Cat, Squirrel Eyeball Each Other
Sora and I just had a staredown at the front door with a squirrel on the fence. That might be the squirrel’s tail way off disappearing behind the cherry treeĀ .
Sora is strictly an indoor cat, to protect birds and wee beasts, and to protect her too. . . But she loves looking out screened windows and taking the air at the door.
Thanks, Yumi, for taking this photo!
Free Cat Toy Feeds, Entertains
Great cat toy for $0.00.
Yumi cut a small hole in the lid of a wee takeout container used for soy sauce or other condiments. The hole is just barely large enough for a piece of cat kibble to pass through.
Sora is learning to bat it around until she’s gotten everything out. Great entertainment for her, and usĀ .
Sunshine Sisters
Sunshine Sisters. Glad to see Sora the Cat learning to relax and hang with Midori. Our late Choco the Cat and Dori always got along, but it’s taken Sora longer to play nice. . .
We think things began to even out the other day when Dori finally did a patrol of the entire living room, asserting it was her space, too .
At 27 or so, Dori is slowing down a bit . . .
Hoarding Cat?
Our late, great Choco was ahead of the hoarding curve way back in August 2007 .
She ate mostly soft food, had no interest any kind of human treats.
I’ve been taking some time to go through my photo archives in this time of staying home. Finding lots of shots that I’ve completely forgotten about!
Cat and Thrush Window Staredown
Sora the Cat and a thrush eyeballing each other through my basement office window screen :-).
Keep Yer Paws and Yer Spirits Up!
In this time of social distancing, I am grateful to have a loving pet. Sora the Cat keeps us on our toes while working from home!
From providing goofy breaks from the computer, to holding hands while napping, she’s a constant presence.
Keep yer paws and spirits up!
And get plenty of rest : – )
