We walked the beach at White Rock, BC, today, and went to the end of the pier as well. Lots of bird species to see!

There were dozens of Surf Scoters fishing for shellfish

Waiting for a confirmation on this one, but it may be a Black Turnstone. If so, a first for us!

UPDATE: Yup, the hive mind at iNaturalist confirms Black Turnstone. Yay, a new species!
